UPPER LAKE — Middle hitter Katherine Edmonds registered eight kills, seven blocks and 12 digs Thursday night as the Upper Lake Cougars turned back the Kelseyville Knights 25-14, 25-15, 12-25, 25-19 in a North Central League I interlock varsity volleyball match at Upper Lake.
Outside hitter BobbieLynn Collins added seven kills and middle hitter Olivia Carter had five kills and two blocks for the Cougars.
“They came out really hard and I was proud of them,” Upper Lake coach Sandy Coatney said of the Cougars” dominance in the first two games. “We moved, were aggressive to the ball.”
Kelseyville rallied in the third game but the Cougars regained the upper hand in game four to secure the match.
“There was a lot of scrappy play going on both sides in the fourth game,” Coatney said.
Jennifer Green”s 12 kills powered the Knights, Jeannie Johnson had seven kills and Alex Pruett led the team with four blocks. Casey Graham also had three aces.
