LUCERNE — Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) opened the doors to a humble building, built in the 1930s for its new regional office on Thursday.

The project that began approximately two years ago was funded by the Lake County Board of Supervisors and Rural Sheriff”s Funding.

The station functions in the same manner as the Lakeport Sheriff”s Office, with business hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A commander, records clerk, deputies and a detective will staff the facility, providing a tangible law enforcement presence on the Highway 20 corridor.

LCSO Detective, Tom Andrews, said he will split time between the Lucerne and Lakeport station.

The regional office will serve the Highway 20 corridor, providing the communities of Lucerne, Glenhaven, Clearlake Oaks and Upper Lake with a convenient location to obtain services.

The building is ADA compliant and centrally located. It was formerly a real estate office owned by Mae Noble.

Sheriff Rod Mitchell said the location is particularly beneficial because it is located so close to the pier, which is a bonus for the Sheriff”s Boat Patrol.

The Northshore Regional Office is located at 6222 Highway 20 on the corner of seventh Ave. and Highway 20 in Lucerne.
