LAKEPORT — Vince Rave rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns and the Clear Lake High School junior varsity football team improved to 3-1 on the season with a 23-0 homecoming win over the Willits Wolverines on Friday in Lakeport.

Anchoring the Cardinals” defense was nose guard Nathan Powers with seven tackles. Outside linebacker Rave and cornerbacks Andre Buendia and Omar Vazquez added five tackles apiece. Also turning in strong efforts were defensive linemen Cris White and Josh Larsen, according to coach Tom O”Rourke.

Clear Lake scored another touchdown on a 31-yard pass from quarterback Kenny Henninger to Luke Punzalan.

Vazquez kicked a 40-yard field goal near the end of the first half.

Clear Lake plays another North Central League I interlock game on Friday in Middletown. Kickoff is 5:30 p.m.
