In his Gettysburg address Lincoln described America as: “? government of the people, by the people, and for the people.” To a growing number of Americans this has morphed into government of, by, and for the career politicians. It is becoming more apparent that career politicians do not care about who they represent. They care only about their careers and power.
In the November elections for Governor, U.S. Senate, Congressional Representative, and State Assemblyman there are four career politicians on our ballots, each of whom could be a poster-child for career politician. They are asking us to return them to power, but what have they done to earn our votes?
Our state economy is in a shambles and there is no end in sight for the economic mess our state government is in.
Our Congress and Senate have rammed spending and unpopular programs into law even though the public opposes what they have done. There is universal agreement that the level of spending at both the state and national level are unsustainable.
Career politicians are responsible for the mess that we are in. Again, what have the career politicians done to earn our votes? For many people it is difficult to vote for someone who is not in their party.
But we have to ask ourselves if these people truly represent us. Or should we put principle over party and vote for some new people from outside the political class? I”ll take the new faces and if they don”t do the job vote them out in the next election. It”s called government of, by and for the people, folks.
