CLEAR LAKE — The driver of a 1991 Chevy S-10 pickup truck that veered off the road and landed on its roof in the lake Wednesday evening died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.
The California Highway Patrol described the driver as a 40-year-old male. Additional details, including the driver”s name, have not been released because the family has not been informed.
The driver was heading eastbound on Highway 20 near Pepperwood Cove when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle went off the road, rolled and came to rest upside down in the lake, according the CHP.
The CHP said there were no other passengers in the Chevy truck and no other vehicles or persons were involved in the accident.
