I don”t know Albert F. Bernal of Clearlake but his letter caught my attention on Oct. 6, regarding career politicians at the state and federal levels.

I believe that his simply-written piece speaks for so many of the people who live day to day trying to catch the “American Dream” by being honest with each other and working hard in their daily lives. I know several farmers, ranchers and vineyard growers who are all pleasant and solid citizens in Lake County.

These types of honorable people exist all over the United States along with others in a variety of professions who are working toward a common goal.

They do the right thing and are honest and respectful with one another in their efforts to live within their means to accomplish their goals. In the past these good people had respect for our representatives. What is causing this change in trust? I believe it is the arrogance of the career politician.

I have recently noticed negative homemade political signs in agricultural fields in Lake County touting our congressman of District 1, who voted 98 percent of the time with Nancy Pelosi (and Harry Reid.) He has been instrumental in taxing and spending tax dollars we do not have to force larger government and programs on the people because it is good for us.

These elected servants of the people, career politicians, have become our enemy as we notice that our thoughts and comments to them no longer count in their decisions as they establish behind closed doors legislation that in their opinion, is good for us because they know best.

It is an arrogance that we can no longer afford to tolerate.

This great country is in a recession and the spending methods being used to affect recovery are just not working.

A variety of statistics say it is working and a different set say no, it”s not working. Who do you believe? Have you ever noticed that there is no recession on Capitol Hill or in the satellite offices of our Senators and Congressman throughout the USA?

Why is that?

Over the last two years a frustrated administration, voted into office by the people who believed their campaign promises, have been rapidly establishing their long-time personal frustrations and goals over the wish of the people.

This administration moved quickly before the people were able to see the truth and feel the arrogance being committed against them. Now we have a cancer we must contend with.

To do that we must cut it out en masse, career politicians, to cleanse the tentacles of infestation.

Sometimes I don”t believe Obamacare was a plan for health care for the uninsured, riddled with earmarks and back-door deals.

I believe Obama was only interested in creating a failure of the private health care industry so that the federal government would have to step in to ?save us” with a full government health are plan. It darn near happened.
