LAKEPORT — Friends of the Lake County Library will conduct its annual open house and book sale, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Lakeport Library, 1425 N. High St. in Lakeport.
The group is making a special offer: for $15, attendees can purchase a Friends of the Library book bag and fill it with books. The book sale will include one-of-a-kind books, book sets and books no longer in print. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
A silent auction features craft items including puzzles, jewelry, decorative items and a quilted wallhanging. Other items are being added as the event approaches.
Featured author Steve Bartholomew, author of “Gold: A Tale of the Gold Rush” and “Journey to Rhyolite,” will read from one of his latest novels. Special guest OurKnee, the only canine member of the Friends of the Library, will attend and greet his book-loving friends.
Proceeds from this event support the libraries in Lake County. For more information, call 263-8817.
