LAKEPORT — The first all-hip hop show ever to be staged in the county, takes place at 6 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Soper Reese Community Theatre.

The Hip Hop Dance Fest features dancers from 2-year-old tots to teenagers. The show features students from the Lakeport Dance Studio, Konocti Dance Academy and the Tessiz Hip Hop Dance Crew.

Money raised for this event will help Lake County youth attend the San Francisco Hip Hop Dance Fest in November at the Palace of Fine Arts, where they will meet and work with performers from all over the globe.

General admission is $5; reserved seating is $8. Tickets are available online at www.SoperReeseTheatre.com or at the theater box office, open from noon to 5 p.m. Thursdays and for two hours before and up to showtime on the day of the show at 275 S. Main St. in Lakeport. Tickets are also on sale at Catfish Books in the Safeway Center, Lakeport or by phone at 263-0577.

The Soper-Reese Community Theatre is a restored, historic, performing arts venue established in 1949 and seating 300 patrons. Run by an all-volunteer organization, the theatre operates under the guidance of the non-profit Lake County Arts Council. The Soper-Reese brings dance, music, plays and poetry to all members of the Lake County community and to visiting tourists.
