UPDATED:

The GOP wind is winding up blasting loud to obscure the fact that it is devoid of ideas or any realistic agenda. Contradictions and ambiguities abound as it obstructs, obfuscates and obscures the realities of our increasingly polarized society. A few years ago, the party was attacking President Clinton as an inveterate liar, and now his comments about Jerry Brown are used as an example of veracity.

Although they constantly rant and rave about big government, they are willing to take advantage of Social Security and Medicare if the circumstances merit and I have yet to hear one of them criticize big business, in fact, two of its candidates this year learned tactics in big business, the same nefarious tactics that resulted in our present day economic meltdown.

They can justify the meanest insults, invasion of privacy, and some comments that verge on slander as witnessed by a letter a few months ago by one of their leading exponents here in Lake County.

Then are so surprised and indignant when the same weapons are used against them.

Dismissing evolution, they practice the Darwinian principles of “survival of the fittest” blocking the extended employment benefits to those citizens eking out a precarious existence in these harsh economic times. They seem to be only concerned with obstructing President Obama”s policies, no matter whom are being injured. By polarizing and divisive means they are weakening the country they profess to love and revere.

And one thing is certain, nowhere is the hypocrisy more evident than ignoring the Founding Fathers famous comment about America. “A house divided cannot stand.”
