I lost my son Joshua to drugs six years ago, and am very sad that our community offers so little to addicts in the way of healing. Our correction facilities do not rehabilitate a young person: nine times out of 10 they will never return to society as they once knew it. My son Dustin is 34 years old, and an adult who leads his own life. We do not have a close relationship, and although I was not aware he was having drug problems at the present time, I”m deeply saddened by what has happened to him. Drugs have affected many lives, as I know first hand. I feel that my own experiences with addiction in my own family will give me the compassion and experience to make sound decisions when dealing with the devastation caused by drugs.
