CLEARLAKE — A Clearlake man arrested earlier this week for alleged sales of cocaine was arrested again on firearm charges Thursday.

The second arrest of Dustin Lee Wilson, 34, was made by California Highway Patrol (CHP).

According to CHP, Wilson was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Michelle Truong, 27, of Hercules. At approximately 10:40 p.m. Thursday, a CHP officer made a traffic stop on the silver 2006 Mercedes SL55, which she was driving northbound on Highway 29 in Middletown. The traffic stop was for not displaying a front license plate and for illegal tint on the front windows, CHP stated.

“After contacting the driver and passenger, the officer observed indicators of drug trafficking, which gave him probable cause to further detain the two people and search the vehicle,” CHP stated. “A search of the vehicle yielded 2.08 pounds of processed marijuana and a handgun with two loaded magazines.”

Troung was placed under arrest for felony transportation of marijuana and possession of a concealed weapon. Wilson was placed under arrest for felony transportation of marijuana, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and convicted felon in possession of ammunition.

According to Lake County Sheriff”s Office, Wilson was released from custody at 5:03 a.m. Friday after posting $10,000 bail.
