LAKE COUNTY ? The Lake County Board of Supervisors granted an appeal Tuesday associated with a notice of violation regarding the long-term occupancy of RV spaces on a site with an expired use permit.
The appeal hearing requested by Houser Holdings CA, LLC representing U Wanna Camp, was continued several times since June.
The item was continued most recently from the Oct. 5 meeting in order for the board to obtain information requested from the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). As of Tuesday, the information had not been received; however, the board took action with a 3-2 vote to grant the appeal with conditions attached.
Conditions include sending a request to HCD to step up its enforcement of review of special occupancy parks and notify them that in this particular case notification procedures were not followed.
The board will also request that HCD not issue any permits in the future without following proper notification procedures.
Chairman Anthony Farrington and Supervisor Jim Comstock voted against granting the appeal.
The board approved a resolution presented by the Public Works department accepting and confirming ballot tabulation for the establishment of Zone Q, described as Orchard Shores in Clearlake Oaks.
The zone is located in County Service Area No. 23. Action taken in association with the item approved the formation of Zone Q and assessments for its maintenance.
The board heard an update on potential revenue options for providing long-term, ongoing funding to combat lake algae and aquatic weeds.

The committee is to take into consideration highlights of the discussion and return before the board with actual recommendations at 10:15 a.m. Nov. 16.
