MIDDLETOWN — The Lake County International Charter School (LCICS) is holding its fourth annual Live & Give celebration and auction, 6 to 10 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Moore Family Winery, located at 11990 Bottle Rock Road in Cobb.

The theme for this year”s event is “Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler,” or “Let the Good Times Roll.” The event features live music from Gator Beat, a Sonoma County-based Zydeco band; Cajun/Creole appetizers created by Chic Le Chef in Hidden Valley Lake, a complimentary cup of local micro-brewed ale, dancing and both silent and live auctions.

LCICS Charter Council secretary Valerie Moberg said, “As a small, public school LCICS very much depends on the support of the community to continue to exist as a free educational option for Lake County families. This is our largest fundraiser of the year and while educating the children of our community is a serious business, we all need to have more fun in our lives. With Gator Beat”s live performance, this year”s Live & Give is sure to be our most exciting event yet.”

Tickets can be purchased for $30 per person at Funtopia Toys at 21208 Calistoga St. in Middletown, at the LCICS Office at 15850 Armstrong St., by calling963-3063 or by e-mailing livegive@lcics.org. Attendees must be at least 21 years of age.

LCICS is a free, kindergarten to sixth grade public school that is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World school and Western Association of Schools and Colleges accredited. According to Moberg, the school provides students with an inquiry/project based, enriched education in a small school community and nurturing environment. “At LCICS, students are taught to become competent and self-motivated individuals with a commitment to lifelong learning, enabling them to reach their full potentials as literate, knowledgeable, principled and responsible global citizens of the 21st century.”

Moberg addedd, “Often mistaken for private schools, all charter schools are free and government funded.”
