First Friday Fling takes place on Friday
LAKEPORT — New work by four artists will be featured at the Main Street Gallery”s First Friday Fling reception, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Lake County Arts Council”s Main Street Gallery, located at 325 N. Main Street in Lakeport.
Viewers are invited to look for painted rocks that are the creative endeavors of Carmen Britton on one platform. On the second platform will be a 5-foot fountain and other “found” art by Gary Bosma. Artist Marci Long returns and shows landscapes in acrylic and Sarah Tichava displays fine line drawings in colored pencil.
Artists who are returning to the gallery”s November show are Sunny Franson, Ray Farrow, Nancy Webb, Lynn Wagner, Susan Laymon, Paula Strother, Judy Labelle, Dennis Robison, Anja Koot and George Waterstraat.
The Linda Carpenter Gallery presents the creative work of fifth- and sixth-grade students from Cobb Elementary School under the tutelage of Melanie Liotta.

Artists invited to display work at Dickens Fair
LAKEPORT — The Lake County Arts Council and the Main Street Gallery invites artists in all mediums to show their work during the Dickens Fair, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 27.
The booth will feature handcrafted items by Lake County artists.

LCTC is holding auditions for ?Dearly Beloved”
LAKE COUNTY — Lake County Theatre Company invites interested actors to attend auditions for “Dearly Beloved,” 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 9 and Nov. 11 in the Little Theatre at the Lake County Fairgrounds and from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Lower Lake Community United Methodist Church social hall, 16255 Second St.

Lake County seeks photos for its Web site
LAKE COUNTY — The County of Lake Information Technology Department is seeking photographs for its Web site at www.co.lake.ca.us.
High-resolution digital photos will be rotated each day as the backdrop on the county Web site, showcasing the various amenities of the area where residents work, live and recreate. Photos must be digital, in a .JPG, .TIFF or .PNG format, with dimensions of 1,400 by 450 pixels or larger.
The person submitting the photo must have all rights to the photo and sign a statement to that effect. No financial compensation will be provided by the County of Lake for use of photo, but the photographer will be credited on the County of Lake Web site.

Arts council to hold annual meeting

Symphony to debut Nov. 21 at Soper-Reese
LAKEPORT — The Lake County Symphony will perform Nov. 21 at the Soper-Reese Community Theatre. The Lake County Symphony is underwritten by Clear Lake Performing Arts.
Due to limited seating at the Soper-Reese, children younger than 18 will no longer be admitted free to the Lake County Symphony concert. Instead, they will be welcome at the full orchestra rehearsal, which starts at 11 a.m. Members of the public may also attend the rehearsal for $5 per person.
Admission to the 3 p.m. performance remains $20 for the public and $15 for members of Clear Lake Performing Arts.

Tickets on sale for Renaissance pageant
MIDDLETOWN — Tickets are on sale now for the 17th annual Renaissance Christmas Pageant and Feast. Once again, revelers are invited to celebrate the season in Greystone Castle, also known as the Middletown Community United Methodist Church.
Performances take place at 7 p.m. Dec. 3, 4, 10 and 11, with matinees at 3 p.m. Dec. 5 and 12. A three-course feast will be served while guests enjoy theater-in-the-round in the castle”s great hall, with a cappella Renaissance and Christmas music, authentic costumes and d?cor. During this year”s performance, the castle is breached by pirates. Diners are invited to dress as nobles, peasants or pirates and see what unfolds.
Individual tickets bought before Nov. 15 at $40. After Nov. 15, the price will be $44 each. Tickets for groups of four or more are $35 each.
According to publicists, $20 per ticket can be declared as a tax deduction. Proceeds support community programs such as emergency food distribution, parenting support groups, youth and community outreach programs and more.
