LAKE COUNTY — The Board of Supervisors recently designated Nov. 7 to 13 as “In-Home Supportive Services Caregiver Recognition Week” in Lake County. A proclamation designating such was presented on Tuesday.
The proclamation presented by the board reads as follows:
“WHEREAS, the California State Assembly has adopted a resolution that proclaims the second week of November as In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Home Care Worker Recognition Week, to recognize and commend the valuable contributions of IHSS caregivers; and
“WHEREAS, nearly 1600 IHSS caregivers in Lake County provide home care services and support which make it possible for approximately 1600 low-income disabled and elderly residents in Lake County to remain living independently in their homes, promoting their independence and dignity; and
“WHEREAS, the work of Lake County”s IHSS caregivers requires great sensitivity, patience, commitment, dedication, and compassion; and
“WHEREAS, the work of Lake County”s IHSS caregivers can be physically demanding and emotionally challenging; and
“WHEREAS, the Lake County IHSS Advisory Committee acknowledges the contributions and importance of Lake County”s IHSS caregivers.
“NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Lake does hereby designate the week of Nov. 7-13, 2010 as IHSS Caregiver Recognition Week in Lake County, and recognizes and appreciates the many hours of devoted service Home Care workers provide to the citizens of Lake County.”
