CLEARLAKE — The quick actions of a passerby may have contributed to the saving of a home and the family inside Monday afternoon. No injuries were reported in the structure fire that broke out around 2:33 p.m. on Snook Avenue. Korey Dugger, 24, of Cobb said he was walking by when he was alerted to the smoke coming from the home. “I banged on the door until I got an answer,” he said. “I don”t know how they didn”t know their house was on fire. It was full of smoke.”

Dugger said once he got an answer at the door, he was able to help the woman and children inside as well as a canine to safety. The fire was contained to an exterior corner of the home. Lake County Fire Protection District (LCFPD) spent little more than an hour on scene. Cause of the fire is pending further investigation.
