LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County Board of Supervisors presented a proclamation Tuesday honoring all veterans on Veterans Day 2010.
The proclamation presented reads as follows:
“WHEREAS, we have a sacred trust with those who wear the military uniforms of the United States of America and American veterans deserve our deepest appreciation and respect; and
“WHEREAS, our nation”s servicemen and women are our best and brightest, enlisting in times of peace and war, serving with honor under the most difficult and challenging circumstances while making sacrifices that most of us cannot imagine; and
“WHEREAS, each November 11th we reflect upon the priceless contributions of our country”s veterans and reaffirm our commitment to provide them and their families the support they were promised and have earned; and
“WHEREAS, our veterans are key in standing up for the concepts of liberty, self-determination, and equal opportunity; and
“WHEREAS, on Veterans Day we honor the heroes we have lost and rededicate ourselves to all current and future veterans.
“NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that the Lake County Board of Supervisors does proudly proclaim that Nov. 11, 2010 is Veterans Day in Lake County and encourages all citizens to recognize the service and sacrifice of our country”s veterans with expressions of thanks and recognition for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.”
