Pageant extends early bird pricing
MIDDLETOWN — An early bird discounted admission price for the 17th annual Renaissance Christmas Pageant and Feast has been extended through Nov. 30. Individual tickets cost $40 each until Nov. 30. Tickets are $44 each after Nov. 30.
For groups of four or more, tickets are $35 each, based on availablity.
According to pageant organizers, $20 of the ticket price can be declared as a tax deduction. Proceeds benefit outreach programs at the Middletown Community United Methodist Church.

?Wicked Phantom Melodies” supports LCAC
LAKEPORT — The Lake County Arts Council will be partnering with pianist and voice instructor Viki Jay in “Wicked Phantom Melodies,” to be held at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Weaver Auditorium in the Lower Lake Historic Schoolhouse Museum.
Jay will accompany Claire Ando and Doug Burns as they perform songs from “Phantom of the Opera” and “Wicked.” Adding to the performance will be the voices of Reiko Hattori, Cathy O”Connell, Doug Reams and Erika Tibbetts.
A $10 donation is optional with proceeds going to the Linda Carpenter Student Gallery, which is located in the Main Street Gallery, 325 Main St. in Lakeport. Light refreshments will be available. For more information, contact the Main Street Gallery at 263-6658.
Matson to host writing workshop in Lakeport
LAKEPORT — Clive Matson hosts a writers” workshop, 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Lake County Arts Council”s Main Street Galery. Saturday afternoon will be for getting acquainted and setting the parameters for the workshop.
On Sunday, there will be time for writing, reading, compassionate criticism and summation. Attendees are asked to bring a dish for a potluck lunch. Cost of workshop is $55.
Matson writes short stories, essays, plays and has published seven books of poetry. He has led workshops nationwide for 24 years, holds an MFA in poetry from Columbia University and teaches at University of California Extension in Berkeley. He helped edit the anthology of 9/11 poems, “An Eye for an Eye Makes the Whole World Blind” (Regent Press, Oakland, 2002).

Artists invited to display work at Dickens Fair
LAKEPORT — The Lake County Arts Council and the Main Street Gallery invites artists in all mediums to show their work during the Dickens Fair, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 27.
Fine art will also be displayed on racks down the center of the gallery beginning on Nov. 27 and continuing through Dec. 2 at 325 N. Main St. in Lakeport.

Christmas Festival of Music takes place Dec. 4
LAKEPORT — The 25th annual Christmas Festival of Music, featuring choirs, instrumentalists and vocalists from the community, will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 600 16th St. in Lakeport. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
Swehla family to perform in Christmas show
LAKEPORT — Nine performing members of the Swehla family invite viewers to join them for a Christmas musical that is suitable for all ages and offers a special tribute to veterans, 7 p.m. Dec. 4, 17 and 18 at the Soper-Reese Community Theatre, located at 275 Main St. in Lakeport. All seats are $10.
