LAKEPORT — The Lake County Board of Supervisors Tuesday received an update from the department of public works regarding the slurry seal project in the Clearlake Oaks Keys subdivision.
Public Works Director Brent Siemer told the BOS that contractor International Surfacing Systems completed the outstanding corrective work on the subdivision”s roads as of Nov. 12.
ISS began repairing street surface problems in October, applying asphalt slurry and taking advantage of unseasonably warm fall weather, Siemer said.
Siemer said he inspected the roads and found that ISS “did a very good job” fixing what had been poor road conditions in the Keys.
The department has received several complaints from local homeowners about “cosmetic” issues, Siemer said, estimating he had received complaints from six people while the roadwork affected roughly 600 parcels.
Some of the complaints described potential trip hazards and water puddles along the roadways, which could be addressed in the summer, Siemer said.
Siemer also said the department plans to fix damage done to a parking lot that had been used to store equipment and materials by repaving the lot next summer.
The BOS will be presented with a notice of completion for the Keys slurry seal project in December, Siemer said.
