LOWER LAKE — Here”s one way to wrestle a few bucks into the basketball program.
Velocity Pro Wrestling and the AAU Basketball Club of Lake County are joining forces for a slam dunk fundraiser Dec. 11 at the Brick Hall in Lower Lake. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the first match is 6 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students, children younger than 10 and senior citizens. All proceeds benefit AAU Basketball.
The featured match pairs “The Mexican Pit Bull” Lenny Vegas against his own son, “The Natural One” Matt Justice. The same two battled it out in Lake County during an April 10 appearance at the old Oak Hill Middle School gym in Clearlake, where Vegas emerged the winner. Justice has been waiting eight long months to even the score.
The under card feat-ures various other wrestlers from throughout Northern California, many of whom are members of Total Wrestling Federation, a circuit based out of Sacramento that has been up and running for 10-plus years.
