CLEARLAKE — A Clearlake man led police on a 400-yard chase after being stopped for a traffic violation and a subsequent search of his car revealed “numerous packages of marijuana and other sales related items” in his possession, according to Sgt. M. Snyder of the Clearlake Police Department.
A CPD officer stopped the Pontiac Grand Am driven by Brenden Fanucchi, 20, in the parking lot of Kragen-O”Reilly Auto Parts around 2 p.m. Thursday, Snyder said.
Fanucchi fled the vehicle, ran 400 yards through a residential neighborhood and resisted officers once he was caught, Snyder said.
Fanucchi was taken into custody, Snyder said, and officers found the drugs and other items during a subsequent search of the Grand Am.
Fanucchi was booked on charges including driving on a suspended license, resisting arrest, possession and transportation of marijuana, according to Snyder.
