SODA BAY ? A family of three quickly became a family of six when Marcus, Maddox and Ronin Fields, triplets, were born to Rashell Fenton, 25, and Dave Fields, 28.
The couple”s 4 year-old son Logan, is thrilled to be a big brother three times over.
The triplets are natural, meaning no fertility drugs were involved.
Marcus was born at 1:59 p.m. weighing in at 4 pounds, 12 ounces. He was followed by the largest of the three, Ronin, just one minute later, weighing 5 pounds, 10 ounces and Maddox entered the world at 2:02 p.m. weighing 4 pounds, 6 ounces.
Marcus and Maddox are identical twins and Ronin is a fraternal triplet.
The infants remained at Sutter Hospital in Santa Rosa until Nov. 13 for observation. All three came home to Soda Bay with clean bills of health.
Dave and Rashell said they were very surprised and initially shocked when they found out they were having triplets.
“It”s a blessing. I tend to think everything is meant to be for a reason,” Dave said.
According to Dave, the OB/GYN, said it was the first time he”s seen triplets in his many years in his practice.
The family is busy adjusting sleeping and diaper changing schedules.
“I hope they like love, because that”s about all I can offer them,” Dave said.
The couple wants the triplets to have their own identities, so they are not dressing the infants in matching garb.
To be expected, they are going through diapers like crazy and could use some more newborn clothing, formula and strollers.
Dave is the service manager at Holder Ford in Lakeport and understandably Rashell will be a stay-at-home mom for awhile.
