CLEARLAKE — Clearlake Police are seeking any information regarding a shooting incident that occurred around 6:37 p.m. Tuesday in the south area of Old Highway 53. Several calls received by dispatch indicated that numerous shots were heard in the areas between about the 5200 and 5800 blocks of Old Highway 53.
Clearlake Police Sgt. R. Joseph said numerous officers were dispatched to the area and while officers were en route a female victim called the police department to report that her vehicle was shot at while she traveled southbound on Old Highway 53 near the intersection with Cypress Avenue.
“Officers contacted the female victim and her female passenger and discovered that her vehicle had been struck and damaged by gunfire,” Joseph said.
Joseph said that motive for the shooting is unknown and there is little suspect information at this time. He said the suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male last seen wearing dark clothing and a dark-colored, hooded sweatshirt. The suspect was last seen on foot in the area of Old Highway 53 and Cypress Avenue.
