CLEARLAKE — Children at New Beginnings were overwhelmed with excitement when the OG Riderz and supporting motorcycle clubs brought Santa to the facility on Wednesday. Santa and his bright-colored elf had stockings as well as several gifts for all the children.

More than two dozen gifts were dispersed among the children serving 13 families with children from four-months-old to 12 years of age.

“We really appreciate the OG Riderz and their supporting motorcycle clubs. They made it a merry Christmas for our kids again this year,” Debbie Hart of New Beginnings said. “Santa and all his helpers were more than generous bringing an abundance of smiles and gifts to our families at New Beginnings.”

The roaring sound of motorcycles preceded Santa”s arrival, who was welcomed with warm hugs and holiday good tidings. Children gathered in front of the Christmas tree inside where Santa invited each child up on his lap to hear their Christmas wishes and give them their gifts.

“We”re just doing our part to make sure all the children of our area have a merry Christmas,” Michael Horner of the OG Riderz said. “There are so many families struggling this year and we try to help where we can.”

OG Riderz were joined by supporting motorcycle clubs including the Ghost Warriors of Sonoma County and the Ukiah chapter of the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club. Contributors to the effort included Jonas Oil, Lower Lake Shell Station, Funtopia, X-Site Motorsports and Osborne Construction.

New Beginnings is the sole provider of perinatal alcohol and other drug abuse treatment in Lake County. The program operates under the supervision of the Lake County Community Action Agency.
