MIDDLETOWN — A Twin Pine Casino & Hotel customer got really lucky Tuesday hitting a slot machine jackpot of $8,430,301.44. The jackpot was hit on a statewide California Megabuck machine.
The lucky winner was Dale Valentine of San Leandro. Valentine is a retired firefighter and owns a vacation home in Lake County where he and his wife spend much of their time.
According to Twin Pine management, Valentine has been a loyal customer of the casino for more than 15 years. “He has hit a few smaller jackpots during that time, but nothing that measures to this one,” Tim McGlynn, marketing director said. “Mr. Valentine plans with his new found millions include putting money away in the bank, making a large donation to Hospice and to learn how to ride a Harley motorcycle. Mrs. Valentine says she would like a larger bathroom and closet in their home.”
The Valentines call Twin Pine Casino & Hotel their favorite casino, McGlynn said, adding that the couple particularly likes the restaurant, gift shop and the employees at Twin Pine. “I”m glad I hit the jackpot, but I”m really glad it happened here,” Valentine said. “It will be really good PR for the casino.”
“The Middletown Rancheria has been doing business as Twin Pine Casino for 16 years. Our tribe has been committed to providing great success in our community. We are extremely excited with the new found fortune of Dale Valentine, one of our loyal customers that frequent our gaming facility,” Carl Rivera, tribal chairman said. “It truly is inspiring when a valued customer who has supported our casino wins a million dollar jackpot of this magnitude. We take pride in our Twin Pine Casino & Hotel employees and staff for the success we have in our business.”
Twin Pine Casino & Hotel is owned and operated by the Middletown Rancheria of Pomo Indians of California.
