UPDATED:

I”m grateful for this opportunity to inform Lake County residents about my appreciation for Lake County Planner Ron Yoder.

He has been instrumental in the process of creating a preliminary medical marijuana growing ordinance.

He has been thorough and dedicated: to meet the needs of the county, protection of the environment, respect for legal medical marijuana growers, as well as, the needs of the surrounding county residents, public safety, considering the legality of the crop as an agricultural commodity and much more.

I was not aware until I talked with Yoder that Lake County is the only county, of the surrounding counties, that does not have a code or ordinance for the cultivation of medical marijuana.

It would be very valuable for Lake County to establish an ordinance for the following reasons: much needed money to be brought into the county, protection of the environment, neighbors” and communities” rights are all respected and minimize public dangers common to grow areas.

Lake County taxpayers please contact your Lake County District Supervisor to pressure them to complete what Yoder began: to make medical marijuana cultivation equal to any other crop in our beautiful, agricultural county.

I am grateful for government servants like Ron Yoder.
