CLEARLAKE — St. Helena Hospital Clearlake (SHC) welcomed its first baby of 2011 on New Year”s Day. The baby was delivered prior to arrival at the hospital.
The 6 pound, 1 ounce baby boy, who was 18 inches long has yet to be given a name. He was born to Mischelle Whitehurst and Gus Rapp at their Clearlake Park home at 7:55 p.m. on Jan. 1.
After his father delivered him, the baby and his mother were then transported via ambulance to SHC where they were welcomed for post-natal care by Dr. M. Shepherd and OB nurses Darlene Hamm and Leslie Ricks.
The new edition was showered with gifts on Monday courtesy of Clearlake Walmart, The Bunk House gift shop of Middletown and SHC administration.
Lilawa Rapp, 4, said she is very excited to be a big sister.
