WILLOWS — Two Terrace Middle School eighth-grade wrestlers traveled through rain, snow and ice to compete in the Westside Invitational on Saturday morning at Willows.
One of the two, Nate Barnett, came home with a second-place medal in the 103-pound division after reaching the division championship match.
Griffen Fales didn”t medal in the 83-pound division but did post a 3-2 record.
Clear Lake High School”s Ronnie Campos coached the two young men with assistance from Clear Lake High wrestler Robby Hammers.
“I was very pleased with the intensity and effort from these two young grapplers in the first out-of-county tournament for both,” Campos said. “They participated on short notice and with very little practice leading up to Saturday. I see a bright future on the mat for both of them.”
The Westside Invita-tional included approximately 200 north state middle school wrestlers who came from as far away as Chester, Oroville and Benicia to participate.
