Mr. Worth”s letter regarding American economic problems is right to the point; if we are to provide a better life for our kids we must improve our economy.
Americans all want to make top dollar for their labor but insist on buying the cheapest goods that they can find often made by countries with very low wages and lax environmental protections.
We insist that our labor be paid fairly and that domestic production observe safe and environmentally sound procedures while allowing the import from countries providing none of these protections.
Our country must revive domestic production to provide the jobs our kids need and the tax revenue to support our government. We should always try to buy American made products and services as our first choice. If this is not possible the next best choice are products made by domestic companies overseas as the profits will be taxed here and may help support their USA manufacturing plants. The final choice would be goods made here by foreign owned companies that employ American workers.
I am always surprised by the disconnect folks have between where the money comes from to pay for their services and the source of the things that they buy. Somehow most do not connect the ability of their customer to buy from them with their need to buy goods produced in the USA . Some do have customers from overseas it is true but most are Americans.
Buy American!
