LAKE COUNTY — On Thursday at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Lakeport Police Department, including a campus police officer and a police detective, responded to a report of a suspicious person, matching the vague description of a previously reported suspicious person who followed a student home from school last week, on campus of the Terrace Middle School.
According to Lakeport Police Officer Dale Stoebe, the initial report was made by two students to school staff who, in turn, reported it to law enforcement.
A search of the area was performed almost immediately after the initial report with negative results.
Further investigation revealed conflicting description and activity information. LPD could neither confirm nor deny that the suspect or suspects, were not a student or students from one of the adjoining campuses. LPD and Lakeport Unified School District reacted immediately to the information. All leads have been exhausted in this matter and regular school activities were not interrupted.
