I wrote a letter last week about getting narcotics out of the hospitals and now I”m convinced more then ever something must be done. On Thursday I got news that one of my good friend”s sister in Columbus, OH. passed away suddenly at the age of 40. No, not from some dreaded illness or a heart attack, but on an overdose of prescription drugs. Not intentionally, she was sadly addicted. I am asking each and every one of you to please write your doctors, hospitals and Congressman to ask for help in getting these dangerous habit-forming drugs off the streets.
I am afraid every day my phone rings that it will be the police telling me my son is dead as a result of being addicted. We have to stop turning our heads to this. Someone told me my job was probably on the line now that I have taken a stand.
Isn”t this what we as neighbors and friends should be doing, reaching our hands out to help this troubled country? I ask you please to take a stand and join me in making our voices heard.
