I”d like to thank all of the readers that have supported my column, Views and News. And I”d especially like to thank Gary Dickson for giving me the opportunity to express my views.

My objective has always been to present the news behind the news and the story behind the story, hoping to convince the reader that reality is usually scoffed at and illusion is usually king, but in the battle for the survival of Western civilization it has to be reality not illusion or delusion that will determine what the future will bring. Having to accomplish that every week in 750 words or less has been quite the challenge.

Especially since many of the subjects I tackle have to be clarified before I”m able to establish my point of view.

Freedom of speech is essential in a free society. Other than an illegal threat, to restrict the ability to speak freely because someone may be offended, is no different than restricting someone”s ability to think. Words are articulated from thoughts. If you can”t say it, you had better not think it. George Orwell called it “thought crime” in his legendary book “1984.”

Whether it”s face-to-face, over the airwaves or by written word, we must maintain our freedom to express our thoughts without fear of being silenced, removed or extinguished. Any other viewpoint and agenda would be in direct conflict with our God-given Constitutional right to free speech.

I”ve been offered to write a column on an online news source. Those who would like to continue reading my column may do so every Friday at: http://www.newswithviews.com

Thank you,

Al Duncan
