FORT BRAGG — Kristiana Outen led the way with 14 points and the Middletown Mustangs opened the second half of their North Central League I North schedule with a 51-17 victory over the host Fort Bragg Timberwolves on Tuesday night.

Middletown improved to 5-0 in the North standings, maintaining its half-game lead over Lower Lake (5-1), and to 18-4 overall.

“It was a good game, the girls played real well,” Middletown coach Tony Hart said.

Jenny Hoefer added nine points and Heather Huston had eight for Middletown, which remains on the road Friday to play Kelseyville at 6 p.m.

In other JV girls” action Tuesday:

Clear Lake 45, St. Vincent 38

At Petaluma, Kelcie Reynolds tossed in 22 points and the Clear Lake Cardinals turned back the St. Vincent Mustangs in NCL I South play.

Clear Lake took a 24-20 lead into halftime and led throughout the second half.

“Kelcie handled the ball real well tonight,” Clear Lake coach Joe Wind said. “She found the empty and lanes and took ”em.”

Anna Westin scored 11 points before leaving the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury, the severity of which Wind couldn”t say as of late Tuesday night. Morgan Psalmonds added eight points.

Lower Lake 43, Kelseyville 16

At Lower Lake, Zobee Miller pulled down 20 rebounds and blocked seven shots as the Lower Lake Trojans improved to 5-1 in the NCL I North standings with a win over the Kelseyville Knights.

It also was the Trojans” 20th win in 23 games this season.

“I”m very proud of them,” Lower Lake coach Ray Silva said. “I told them it”s pretty special to win that many in a season.”

Danni Welch scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Janiece LaValley added eight points, five steals and four assists to lead the Trojans. Miller had five points.

Jeannie Johnson”s six points paced Kelseyville.

Lower Lake 71, Kelseyville 53

At Kelseyville, even with Lower Lake guard Chad Mattos sporting a sprained ankle, the Trojans generated more than enough offense to beat the Kelseyville Knights in NCL I North action.

Jesse Meldrum, recovering from a sprained ankle himself, scored 19 points to lead the Trojans, who had a 34-18 lead by halftime. Stephan Greathouse added 12 points and Richard Tucker and Zane Kazaka had eight each.

“I got to play everybody tonight and that”s always nice,” Lower Lake coach David Graham said.

John Mark Reagan”s 22 points paced the Knights and Arnulfo Vargas added 14.

Middletown 62, Fort Bragg 37

At Middletown, the Middle-town Mustangs improved to 5-0 in the NCL I North standings by rolling past the Fort Bragg Timberwolves.

Blaine Amos scored 19 points with eight rebounds and Nate Snodgrass added 18 points and eight rebounds to lead Middletown. Tyler Rockwell had seven points.

“It was a well-rounded team effort,” Middletown coach Anthony Bazzano said. “We”re playing really well right now. We”ve had some big wins.”

Clear Lake 58, St. Vincent 48

At Lakeport, Danny Partida, Andrew Jackson and Brandon Helms all scored in double figures and Luke Punzalan grabbed 14 rebounds as the Clear Lake Cardinals knocked off St. Vincent in NCL I South action.

Clear Lake played a strong first half, jumping out to a 35-17 lead, then withstood a 14-0 St. Vincent run to open the second half.

Partida led Clear Lake with 15 points, including two 3-pointers, Jackson finished with 11 points and Helms had 10.

“Helms played his second straight good game,” Clear Lake coach Jeremy Hopkins said.
