LAKEPORT — Lake County Board of Supervisors authorized Tuesday the rezoning of property located at 3575 Hill Road in Lakeport. The board also adopted a negative declaration in relation to the rezone, which was requested by property owner Shirley Brooks.

According to Alan Flora, associate planner of the Community Development Department, a tentative parcel map was approved by the Planning Commission in November 2010 requiring a 100-foot agricultural buffer. He said the Planning Commission recommended the approval of the rezone in November with the condition that the tentative parcel map meets the conditions of the final parcel map requirements.

“Considering the General Plan designation being Suburban Reserve and the limited intensity of agriculture use there on the property, with the mitigation measures of the building envelopes and the ag buffer, the Planning Commission and staff recommend that the Board of Supervisors adopt the negative declaration and approve the rezoning to SRB-3,” Flora said.

Action by the board subdivides a 6.14-acre parcel into two, 3.07-acre parcels and rezones the property from Agricultural to Suburban Reserve with B-3 combining district three-acre minimum. “As these properties are just over three acres, that would preclude any further subdivision,” Flora said.
