CLEARLAKE — A Clearlake woman was arrested Friday for willful child endangerment after allegedly “showing off” her driving skills to the teens in her vehicle. Tammy Maninger, 40, was arrested after crashing her vehicle into several parked cars and other objects.

According to Clearlake Interim Chief of Police Craig Clausen, Maninger said she was trying to show her kids how to “get air” in the VW Rabbit she was driving. Clausen said Maninger was traveling northbound on 10th Street at an unknown rate of speed when she decided to test her driving skills. Before the incident was complete, Maninger”s vehicle allegedly hit three parked vehicles, a fire hydrant and a propane tank. Clausen said her vehicle ultimately came to rest on its nose in a vertical position with the rear tires in the air. He said the vehicle was wedged between another vehicle and a garage door on the 3200 block of 10th Street.

Clausen said there were three teenagers in Maninger”s car and she was booked into Lake County Jail for willful child endangerment. No injuries were reported.
