LAKE COUNTY – The county has announced the following road closures because of weather conditions today.
Areas of Bottle Rock Road, Seigler Canyon Road, Big Canyon Road and Anderson Springs Road each remain closed while PG&E addresses downed power lines and utility poles, County Road Superintendent Stephen Stangland said.
Sections of Elk Mountain Road and Bartlett Springs Road remain closed because of snow, Stangland said.
All community roads west of Highway 175 in the Cobb Mountain area, as well as all roads in the Rivieras (including Soda Bay Road), are open, Stangland said. Crews were working to clear areas on the east side of Highway 175, he said.
Stangland said because of Thursday night”s cool temperatures, “every road in Lake County is icy.” County crews are working to sand main roads, but “it is impossible for our crews to sand every road,” he said.
Caltrans reports no closures to Highway 29. The only major state highway closure in the county is Highway 175 between the Highway 29 intersection and five miles west of Middletown, for which a detour is available, according to Caltrans.
County agencies request that people drive safely, slowly and alertly because of the icy road conditions.
Weather-related closures will be updated as new information arrives.
