I would like to extend to the Clearlake Police Department a heartfelt thank you.
I called at 8:30 p.m. during the storm from San Francisco when I found out that my 98-year-old great-grandma was without electricity since 10:30 a.m. Since she lives alone I was very worried. It was snowing and so cold. She was wrapped in blankets and gloves and had not eaten since breakfast. Clearlake Police Department staff went into immediate action and contacted her to make sure she was OK and reassure that they were available just in case. That was extremely professional.
However, when I found out the crew brought her a hot meal an hour later, that went so far beyond our expectations.
In my book these people are heroes. It also helped that they sent her a good-looking cop.
That made her night. She tried to pay him for the food but he would not take the money. Our sincerest thanks and congratulations on having such an extremely professional group of men and women in your police department.
