CLEARLAKE — Clearlake Interim City Administrator Stephen Albright provided the council with an update on the status of grants Thursday.
Albright reported to the council as follows:
– First Time Home Buyers Program has a balance of $549,443. Two loans were made through the program in the past two years and 35 throughout the past seven years.
– Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for the Edgewater, senior housing project totals $740,000. Albright said the project is waiting for state signatures to proceed.
– Economic Development Revolving Loan Fund has a balance of $440. Albright said the balance will increase as payments on loans are made.
– RZ-Berg Harris Resource Bond Act is a park and recreations grant with a balance of $167,000. The grant requires a $30,000 local match. Funds are directed toward improvements at Highlands Park, which must be complete by March 31, 2012.
– Resource Bond Act (per capita) account has a balance of $35,431 remaining from the $62,813 grant received in 2007. Funds are earmarked for parking lot improvements at Highlands Park, which must be complete by March 31.
– Safe Routes to School Dam Road Project balance totals $311,527; there is no local match for this grant.
– Safe Routes to School Burns Valley Road Project balance totals $144,446. Albright said the project is currently in the engineer phase and he expects it will go out to bid by the middle of this year.
– Energy Conservation Block Grant (ECBG) for energy projects has a balance of $89,139. The grant requires a $20,000 local match. The stimulus funds will be used to upgrade city facilities with the priority being the roof on City Hall.
