Are we thinking yet?
Decisions on the future of medical marijuana dispensaries in Lake County will be discussed on March 8 and I have some really good ideas. How about having one at the castle in Lucerne, for a royal treatment. Also, the marina in Nice was an excellent purchase. A dispensary there with the lake access and view would attract lots of people.
Oh, here”s an idea, our beautiful mountain is just sitting there and Konocti Harbor and Resort is just waiting for some action. It could be a huge clinic and rehab site with music and hiking.
Please excuse my sarcasm, but just what is the goal of redevelopment? I am definitely for it, but I thought the purpose was to clean up blight and attract tourists and new businesses. We get brave, visionary and enthusiastic new business owners and thank them for their efforts by allowing a medical marijuana dispensary across the street. Do the people who truly need marijuana for medical reasons have the energy to stand and line up outside on the sidewalk for their pot?
We have many natural problems to deal with here in Lake County. To name a few, we need to prevent the destructive quagga mussel and control the excessive lake plant growth and algae scum. So why are we rolling out the red carpet for the other lake scum? Let”s get a united backbone and say enough is enough.
