First Friday Fling at Main Street Gallery
LAKEPORT — The Lake County Arts Council”s Main Street Gallery will host its First Friday Fling reception for exhibiting artists, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at 325 N. Main St. in Lakeport.
Robert Russell is exhibiting an oil collection entitled “Springtime.” Other new exhibits this month include Bobbie Bridges with a display of prints in her Parisian style watercolors, Diana Liebe and Phyllis Thiessen in watercolors and Karen Magnusen in a variety of mediums. Liebe, Thiessen and Magnusen are all members of the Konocti Art Society.
Continuing in the March show are the work of six artists from the Konocti Art Club: Judy Cardinale, Eunice Norton, Joyce Porterfield, Eileen Rasmussen, Kathy Dutra and Kennie Winter. Adding to the show are pastel artists Terry Durnil, Bonnie Tsingali and Shelby Posada; Joe Borg and Janice Rinehart with oils, jewelry by Stephanie Bero, sculptures by Terry Church and Stefen Rotter”s work in acrylic. Liebe returns to display hand-painted wearable art, and Doug Rhodes is exhibiting photography of Greece. Rounding out the March show is Wendy Dalton with acrylic paintings.
The Linda Carpenter Gallery is exhibiting a photography exhibit featuring work by Jan Hambrick”s students from Clear Lake High School.
Attendees are invited to enjoy what they galleries and the gift shop have to offer while sipping wines poured by Tulip Hill Winery and listening to Paul Farley on classical guitar.

LLHS to host Renaissance festivities
LOWER LAKE — The Lower Lake High School music program presents a Renaissance dinner feast. The two-day event takes place Friday and Saturday in the multi-purpose room.
The menu features wassail cup, pottage, English roasted turkey, sausage, string beans and sweets.

Comedy night benefits KHS Sober Grad
LAKEPORT — A comedy night to raise funds for Kelseyville High School”s Sober Grad trip will be held March 12 at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Lakeport.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the show to start at 8 p.m. There will be four comedians: Kenny Bob Davis, Tim Halderman, Pat McCoy and Lake County comic Marc Yaffee.
Live and silent auctions will be held throughout the evening event. Beer and wine will be sold. Attendees must be 21 or older.
Tickets can be purchased for $20 presale or $25 at the door. Tickets are available at the Kelseyville Fire Department business office, open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; and at Catfish Books in Lakeport. For more information, call Teri at 349-3695.
EcoArts accepting entries for Outdoor Sculpture Walk
MIDDLETOWN — EcoArts of Lake County invites artists to apply for a spot in the ninth annual EcoArts: Lake County Sculpture Walk at the 107-acre Middletown County Trailside Park. Submission applications must be received by March 15.
Organizers will choose temporary works with strong artistic merit made from and/or relating to nature. The sculptures will be sited along both sides of a 3/8-mile central trail through meadows and woodland. Works will be installed from May 21 through 29 and be removed Oct. 8 through 16. A large public reception will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 11 at the park.
There is a $15 submission fee for each entry; however, EcoArts will waive the fees for schools and community groups. Applications and information is also available at the Lake County Arts Council”s Main Street Gallery, 325 N. Main Street in Lakeport.

LAKEPORT — Free proctering is available to students who need a proctor for online college exams at the Lakeport Library, 1425 High St. Proctors are generally available on Thursday afternoons. ukiaHaiku Festival accepting submissions
UKIAH — North Coast poets of all ages are invited to submit haiku poems to the ninth annual ukiaHaiku festival and competition.
Submissions are free-of-charge except for the Jane Reichhold International Prize category, which has a fee of $5 for up to three poems. Awards in this category will be given in the amounts of $100, $50 and $25 for first-, second- and third-place respectively.
Winning poems in all categories will also be published in a booklet that will be awarded to winners as well as sold to the general public.
The festival and awards ceremony will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. May 1 at SPACE Theater, located at 508 W. Perkins St. at Bush Street in Ukiah.
