We are watching an attack on our democracy, our liberty, our standard of living and our place among the nations of the world.
Not to worry, it”s just the Republican Party up to its old tricks again. It could be the old standard divide and conquer, where we”re supposed to turn on each other and fight until our chains are hopelessly tangled. Or it might be the very popular distract them trick, where they change the subject from jobs to abortion. Or maybe from tax breaks for the rich and famous to whether a middle class teacher is overpaid for using her college education and teachers” credential. Don”t give them time to think of the millionaires and billionaires on Wall Street who caused this cesspool that we are sinking in through theft and fraud. Not one of those people has been arrested, tried or convicted. Instead we bailed them out with tax dollars and they divided billions in bonuses as payment for the excellent execution of the plan. No one knows where the money went.
What the Republicans are doing now is a carefully orchestrated attempt to destroy the Democratic Party by destroying the unions that are their largest source of money while the Republicans now have an endless bankroll of money coming from corporations here and abroad. This money doesn”t have to be accounted for because our twisted Supreme Court doesn”t require it. If they succeed, we will be locked into a fascist government for years to come. Corporate control of the government is the price we pay for being uninformed and too lazy to even vote in our own self-interest. If you don”t read and you get all your news from FOX news then you are doubly handicapped. These same corporations by the way, are responsible for sending our jobs to foreign countries and in doing so crippled our ability to manufacture anything of consequence. When that was done, they moved headquarters overseas to avoid having to pay taxes here. Then they smiled and asked for subsidies, which they got.
