LAKEPORT — The jury in the Thomas Loyd Dudney attempted murder trial deliberated all day Friday but did not reach a verdict.

The jury began its deliberations Thursday afternoon and continued from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, several breaks included, according to prosecution and defense attorneys.

Dudney faces 10 felony charges, along with many special allegations, for his alleged role in an Oct. 20, 2009 incident in which Lakeport resident Ronald Greiner was shot, tortured and hogtied.

The 60-year-old is charged with attempted murder, mayhem, torture, robbery, burglary, three types of assault, battery causing serious bodily injury and participating in a criminal street gang, The Misfits.

Greiner, who testified Feb. 9, said he recognized one of the two attackers as a man he knew by the nickname KTron, who he met several times in spring 2009, and later pointed to Dudney when asked if KTron was present in the courtroom.

The jury members requested that the court reporter”s record of Greiner”s testimony be read back to them, both attorneys said. The jury also requested to hear the testimony of a Lake County Sheriff”s Office deputy and to listen to a recorded phone conversation Dudney made from the Lake County Jail, both attorneys said.

The jury is scheduled to reconvene deliberations next week, both attorneys said.
