I want to share something I just learned with the people of Lake County. It will save you a lot of money in the future.
I recently had some blood tests done at a local hospital lab and just received the bill for $894. I thought the bill was awfully high so I checked around with other labs to see what they would have charged for the same tests.
Well, the outside labs were $100 to $150 cheaper on every test. Cheaper than my local hospital lab.
For example, Quest Lab would have charged me for the exact same tests only $231. That meant I would have saved $631 had I known to check prices.
I wasn”t aware that some labs inflate fees three or four times the price and can get away with it because there are no government controls or regulations stopping it.
I didn”t know that we should all price compare before getting health care.
