LAKEPORT — The Lakeport City Council approved eight resolutions during a special meeting Tuesday afternoon, transferring property and funds from the Lakeport Redevelopment Agency (RDA) to the city.
“All the transfers we are asking for are contracts between the city and the redevelopment agency, no other third parties,” City Manager Margaret Silveira said before the council vote.
The transfers would protect Lakeport RDA assets that could be taken by the state if the governor”s proposal to abolish RDAs statewide comes to fruition, Silveira said. “A lot of other cities are attempting to do things like this,” City Attorney Steve Brookes said.
The council adopted a total of eight resolutions, each by a 4-0 vote. Councilman Roy Parmentier was absent from the nearly 15-minute special meeting.
Two resolutions solidified the transfer of real properties from the RDA to the city. Three resolutions addressed a funding agreement between the city and the RDA for Downtown Improvements, Phase 2.
The final three addressed cooperation and funding agreement between the city and the RDA for funding of services and projects within the Lakeport Redevelopment Project.
