I hope Anthony Farrington remains adamantly pro-constituent and anti-SmartMeter. If the government or big business want it, it probably isn”t advantageous for the consumer.
The best reason I can think of not having one installed ? I turn off appliances I am not using. I don”t need a machine to remind me I”m wasting. Besides, the monitoring is going on outside where I can”t see it in real time.
I”ve never had an electric bill over $30 a month. I don”t use my hot water heater in winter and I don”t have central air conditioning.
I burn manzanita. If I get my power from a coal-fired electric plant, what is the difference?
When you consider the Forks Fire of 1996 burned about 200,000 acres, a few cords of manzanita utilized for heating each year isn”t so damaging and I”m saving PG&E from using coal or fuel to run their plant. No need to buy foreign oil, no super tankers to run aground.
Upon receiving my notice to install a smart meter, I called PG&E and opted out. I am going to build a device to make it impossible for them to change the meter. If it ain”t broke, why fix it?
I believe in freedom and I believe in choice. A SmartMeter is the dumbest thing consumers could consider.
PG&E burned up 30-plus homes and three people died in San Bruno because they don”t maintain their equipment and their record keeping is far from perfect. Should they be trusted?
Just say no.
Thank you, Mr. Farrington, for taking the lead. I commend you for taking a stand for the people and opposing big business.
