I was so upset when I heard a replay of a tape of a Congressional meeting.
A congressman from Texas spoke on how he agreed with cutting federal spending, then brought to light how out of 192 countries in this world we send aid to 150 of them. He said a survey was done and out of those, 82 percent of the people don”t like us. Some are enemies and one is a country that the U.S. is in debt to in the tune of $145,000 per person in this country.
Isn”t it time we wake up and meet our own needs and take care of our own first? I work in a position at the hospital where I see more than most: the homelessness, the hungry, people without health care who end up dying an early death as they couldn”t afford the care they needed.
We as a country need to first turn back to God like our founding fathers did when coming to this country, but second wake up and look around and take care of our own first. Today as you go through a fast food drive-thru like many of us do who are lucky enough to have a job, why not order an extra meal and give it to one of the homeless people standing on the corner? Not money to buy booze or drugs but a warm meal and a prayer to warm their body and soul. God Bless America if it”s not too late!
