Watts going on?

On March 9 at 10:15 a.m. we received a visit from a representative of PG&E at our home on Morningside Drive in Kelseyville. He said he was there to install a SmartMeter at our residence. He said it would only take a few minutes to install. I said, you would think PG&E would give you some warning, if they are going to turn the power off?

I said, “I guess you”re not giving me a choice?” He said, “That”s right I need to install the meter now.”

I questioned him about, how the SmartMeter works? He stated he did not know.

I questioned about the moratorium that recently passed, and asked about the moratoriums in Marin and Santa Cruz? He said he was just an installer hired to install the SmartMeters. He said he didn”t know about the moratorium in this area.

I said “we are using our computer for business and it would be about two hours before it could be interrupted.”

During this time we called the Chamber of Commerce in Lakeport and asked Melissa Fulton about the moratorium. Melissa said we can tell him no and ask for his supervisor”s name and number.

I told the installer I did not want him to install the SmartMeter. Then he told me I could refuse the SmartMeter, but I would be hearing from PG&E.

I asked him about a neighbor across the street. He said she wasn”t home and he changed the meter anyway.

He also changed another neighbor”s meter where the resident wasn”t home at the time and the property is completely fenced with no trespassing signs.

We went to a neighbor”s house on the corner to warn them and the neighbor said PG&E had already changed the meter.

I told him he could have refused the installation.

He said he wasn”t given a choice. The installer was there to install the SmartMeter now.

After talking to my neighbor, he was going to call PG&E and have the SmartMeter removed. The neighbor across the street came home, called PG&E asked them to remove the Smart Meter, and PG&E told him that it was too late.
