UPDATED:

Recently I wrote a letter saying we need to take care of our own first. This was again brought to light when a 58-year-old woman came in to the hospital to be treated and passed away.

I had the unpleasant job of calling her husband a few days later to see if she had insurance to pay her bills. He told me she was unemployed and didn”t have any and was going to put in for Medi-Cal but didn”t know how. I had another lady tell me she had put in for it several times but was denied even before the county sent her a letter telling her what she needed to send them.

She said she made so many calls and no one would return her calls. Isn”t it interesting that the budget cuts that the government is making is to the programs that help the poor and not to the programs aiding other countries?

I am not one of those newspaper preachers, so I hope none of you get that idea. I feel my best witness is how I live my life and not what I say. But the only thing I ask you to do is study the book that has been out for ages and that our Founding Father”s read when coming to this country.

I do believe that we are starting to see the suffering that is talked about in that great book.

I also believe that America has gone too far to turn back.

We were founded under God, but have now turned our back on God. But everyone has to decide that for themselves as that”s why they have their own souls and minds.

In closing I just want to make a plea if you are without health insurance, don”t put off getting it.

If you don”t know how to or need help to apply my job doesn”t allow me to reach out at work as I have too many patients there to help, but if you would call my cell phone number at 533-9326.
