MIDDLETOWN — The service of a search warrant by the Sheriff”s Narcotics Task Force in Middletown on Wednesday morning led to the arrest of a Middletown man and the seizure of methamphetamine, processed marijuana and marijuana plants, according to a press release issued by Capt. James Bauman, Lake County Sheriff”s Office, public information officer.
On March 10, Narcotics Task Force detectives secured a search warrant for the Sacramento Avenue home of Olan Page Lamoreaux, 36. The search warrant was served on Wednesday morning at approximately 6 a.m. and Lamoreaux was detained without incident.
When detectives entered the home, they found Lamoreaux had a video surveillance system monitoring his property and a police scanner actively monitoring the sheriff”s primary radio frequency. Inside the home, detectives located and seized a plastic bag containing an ounce of suspected methamphetamine with a minimum street value of $3,000. Detectives also located and seized 10, one-ounce bags of processed marijuana and another pound of bulk processed marijuana. Narcotics paraphernalia, scales and other evidence of narcotics sales and use were also seized.
In a separate building, detectives located an active indoor marijuana growing operation with 14 well-developed plants inside. Two other structures on the property were in the process of being modified into indoor growing operations. Lamoreaux was arrested and booked at the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility for felony possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of marijuana for sale, marijuana cultivation and misdemeanor possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
The Sheriff”s Narcotics Task Force will continue its efforts to eradicate narcotics from the communities of Lake County and seize suspected profits from narcotics sales for asset forfeiture proceedings.
