KELSEYVILLE — John Mark Reagan tossed a five-hitter and the Kelseyville junior varsity baseball team rallied from a 5-2 deficit to beat the Healdsburg Greyhounds 12-6 in a non-league game on Thursday in Kelseyville.
Healdsburg erased a 2-1 Kelseyville lead with a four-run third inning that followed a brief rain delay. The Knights came back to tie it with three runs in the fourth, then they pushed ahead to stay with a seven-run sixth inning.
“We scored six runs before they got an out,” Kelseyville coach Rob Young said of the rally.
Zack Krohn went 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI to lead the Knights (3-1) at the plate and Preston Herdt went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
On the mound, Reagan allowed only two earned runs while striking out four and walking two.
Though the Kelseyville field was pounded by rain earlier in the week, Young said the infield was in great shape for the game.
“Our maintenance department did an excellent job on the infield,” he said.
